About Ann Lautrette

Ann has been teaching and leading in International Schools for more than 20 years. Originally from the North-East of England, she started her teaching career in inner-city Newcastle before moving to Kuwait. Captivated by cultural difference, she stayed overseas, teaching in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Switzerland and Taiwan. At the core of her writing is a belief that with the right contextual curriculum, flexible pedagogies and adapted assessment, all students are capable of changing the world.

Ann is passionate about innovation in education and her writing has been published in International Schools’ Magazine. She is also an award-winning contributor to International Schools’ Network. A chapter of her writing on creating cohesive curriculum was published in ‘Perspectives on the IB Diploma Core’ Edited by Fabian, Hayden and Thompson.

Alongside her teaching and leadership responsibilities, Ann contributes to wider professional conversations about curriculum, instructional coherence, professional learning and student agency through writing, workshops and collaborative projects with educators and schools. Her work is grounded in day-to-day school leadership and focuses on helping teams translate educational ideas into sustainable practice that improves learning, strengthens teacher collaboration and aligns with whole-school strategic priorities.
